Cited by the Chronicle of Higher Education for one of its innovative programs, Winston-Salem State University's (WSSU) Office of Career Services offers a comprehensive array of high-quality programs and resources for its students and alumni.
Utilizing an integrated approach to career development, the centers work to engage and empower students to develop career strategies, maintain academic and career goals, secure meaningful internships and full-time employment and manage their careers throughout their lives.
The center's resources provide students with an ideal environment for career exploration and a professional development program participation that enhance student readiness to enter the marketplace or pursue additional educational opportunities.
WSSU is committed to education both in and outside of the classroom. Internships are experiential learning programs, which provide opportunities to gain work experience prior to graduation.
At WSSU, it is never too early to start planning for an internship. The Office of Career Services is available to assist with any step of the process, including resume and cover letter preparation, researching internship opportunities and practicing interviewing skills. We firmly believe that students who use our services from the beginning of their academic experience will gain a competitive edge in the employment marketplace. The Office of Career Services invites employers to partner with us in providing students and alumni with the opportunities to reach their career and life goals.
