Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) student Christopher Hill, a May 2009 Computer Science/Technology graduate, completed an internship at the BMW Manufacturing Group in Greenville, S.C. during his junior year. Hill assisted the database group in the BMW Information Technology Research Center with reporting and analysis.  His duties included monitoring the network system’s database performance, and operating systems and servers.  In addition, Hill provided direct application monitoring and database management. He was the third ECSU student to serve as a BMW intern.  Christopher has also interned with the Intel Corporation in Santa Clara, California, and is currently interning with Intel in Chandler, Arizona.

The Office of Career Services assists students with internships and employment opportunities in various ways.  Employers can promote opportunities for students via email or can directly promote and distribute their opportunities via the ECSU website or at campus career fairs, giving students an exclusive advantage in this highly competitive global job market. “We are committed to providing students with multiple tools and resources that help them explore and launch successful careers.”

The Office of Career Services provides great resources to help students develop in the following areas: résumé and vover letter writing, interviewing techniques, dressing professionally, networking and dining etiquette. The office also provides assistance in job search preparation and research for potential employment opportunities.  It is the goal of Career Services to assist ECSU students in reaching their personal and professional career goals.
