Tuition Waiver Program for Faculty and Staff

The Board of Governors provides regulations whereby statutorily described faculty and staff at the University of North Carolina may each take not more than three courses per academic year tuition-free and authorizes that each campus policy specify under what circumstances, if any, fees may be waived.

Academic Assistance Program

This workforce planning and employee development program allows an employee to take a course at an accredited community college, college or university and provides reimbursement of academic costs, if funds are available, and time off the job, if the course is available only during working hours.

UNC Online - offers descriptions, tuition and program contacts for more than 350 online degree and certificate programs, as well as lists thousands of online courses offered to students enrolled at one of the 16 constituent universities of the University of North Carolina system. UNC system faculty and staff can search for available online courses through UNC online, but need to register (most often as a non-degree seeking student) and enroll in the class directly with the campus of their choice. For faculty and staff interested in a full online program of study, a request for information can be submitted right from the UNC Online website.
