Unless a waiver has been obtained, F & A costs must be included in proposal budgets on sponsored projects.
When awarded, F & A costs will be budgeted and charged to each sponsored project in accordance with the approved budget.
Rebudgeting funds to or from certain line items may have an effect on facilities and administrative costs. Sponsored Programs will review the budget revision calculation and approve, or forward the approval request to the sponsor, based on the terms of the award.
At the end of the project, the Division of Finance will prepare a Facilities and Administrative Cost Analysis to ensure that UNC has recovered the maximum allowable F & A cost.
